Customer was having dinner with a friend at Restaurant when she excused herself from the table to go to the restroom. Customer opened up an unmarked door just outside the dining room, believing it was the bathroom, and stepped in. Unfortunately for Customer, she stepped into an open stairwell causing her to tumble to the bottom of the stairs. Customer suffered a fractured heel requiring surgery. This case was resolved through mediation. Jim Coyne handled this case through settlement.
